“Murder by numbers 1-2-3″
The Police

Its fall and I’m looking forward to another year of taking the show to the masses. And even though its hectic and overwhelming…every show is a one on one unique experience. An experience that builds my faith and hope. A faith that we can rise above our circumstances. Hope that even though we as humans may become defiled and beaten…we always have the ability to mend our own ways. When life is so crazy like it is now its easy to want to tune out and get high. But if you watch CNN for 30 seconds or look into your neighbors eye for 2 seconds you can see that the last thing we need is another person tuned out. Now is the time to be awake. This world needs you and me. Its fall and I’m filled with hope and yet I’m angry at numbers today. Angry at the numbers at Ourwall.net that keep growing. Each number representing a life like my brothers that was taken from me. I remebered how much fun we had. And as today is 9-11 I remebered going through all his things after he passed and finding out that he had saved a stack of newspaper clippings from that awful week that the towers went down. He and I were always pretty patriotic. We were always in awe of my dads service in WWII. After i lost my bro I remember how it changed the way I felt about war…or at least the way I looked at those pictures of soldiers who were being killed on TV. I felt like I could honestly relate to the total nightmare grief of the families who have lost thier sons and daughters. Was it any comfort to them that they “Died honorably…serving their country” It was probably as comforting to them as the well meaning people who said to me after my brother died…”He’s in a better place” Well meaning and caring…but in the long run its not much comfort. I think of all the young people I met last year at a miltary school whose moms and dads were being shipped out in the guard or who had themselves joined up to fight. To fight for ME. Not for a flag. not for a constitution. But me and you. They are willing to do the dirty work and risk thier life for mine. I know how short life is…and how bad it hurts when it is taken from a loved one….These soldiers risk so much. And what can I give them in return? All they ask is to be respected…And only sent into harms way when its absolutely NECESSARY. Have we kept this most sacred of contracts? People, I will not share these numbers anywhere but on my blog and I will NEVER politicize my show ‘Dirt”…But for my own sanity I need to vent and get some numbers off my chest.
