Just For You
Open your eyes. Stretch out your hand.
See the morning sky brightest blue
Feel the promise of a brand new
Day. All these colors just for you
While you slept. The mouse ate the cheese.
My beard and the flowers like you grew.
The dog might have fleas. But you do what you
please. All these moments are for you
A long time ago when people kissed
Some dreamed life and love were true.
But the world kept spinning. And the cat kept
grinning. Now the beauty of their dreams is you.
So two dogs prance. The cat just sleeps.
And the mouse has a cold. “Ah-choo”
All these creatures dance while the stars make
romance. And they do this everyday just for you
