Review of Rhode Island show
ByI did a few shows in Warwick last month. It was memorable for me because of the kid who booked me and organized the whole thing. He was a guy named Tyler Rowley who had seen the show six years ago as a senior in High School in Northampton, MA. It was one of my first gigs in a school. I look back on the early shows very critical. I was still finding my “voice” and trying to find the right balance between artistic integrity and doing something educational and in my own neuroses I often doubt the efficacy of those early gigs. So it was a little surprising to hear him say that it meant a lot to him and his class, he never forgot it, and he now works as a community advocate for change in a great organization called Advocacy Solutions It made me feel good to know that the show and the message in some way had “legs” and was indirectly motivating others to make a difference. Also it was a lessen to me that we should be careful to doubt the impact of our actions and our circle of influence. Thanks Tyler.
Anyway there was a neat girl who interviewed me after the show and her article for the local paper is here.
