Vin Scelsa’s Idiots Delight
Recently some of my favorite musical and poetic life moments have come via a radio show. A show called Vin Scelsa’s Idiots Delight. Vin has been “DJing” for 40 years and his presenation is legendary. From NYC’s radio stations WNEW to KROCK to WFUV and now on Sirius Satellite (Where I discovered him). His music and rantings inspire me and scare me cuz so much of what he plays/says is stuff I own and/or think…but he puts it all together in a cosmic free form way that just knocks me out. On November 3rd I tuned in and heard a show where he paid tribute to the 50th anniversary of Allen Ginsberg’s poem “Howl.” It was two hours of mesmerizing radio which I captured and now present to you in two parts. If at all possible try and listen in just one or two sittings with minimal distraction. enjoy.
BTW if you choose to download the files are in AAC format and not mp3. The main reason is for file size and sound quality. So you may need to download itunes for free to listen.
BTW Vin can be heard on WFUV and by subscribing to Sirius Radio. The best $12.99 a month I EVER spent!
